Bryan, Texas Sunday, January 26, 1902 pg 4 Accidentally Shot His Wife Sherman, Tex., Jan. 25. - Mrs. Palo Grissom, aged 18 years, the wife of Palo Grissom, a young farmer, one and one-half miles from Pottsboro, is in a critical condition from the effects of a gunshot wound accidentally inflicted by her husband at an early hour Friday morning. They were standing near the open fireplace and Grissom was holding a 22-caliber target rifle in his hand, when it discharged. The ball entered the left side between the eleventh and twelfth ribs, passing through the stomach, and while it cannot be traced further, it is feared that other vital organs have been injured.
