RUN-AWAY BOYS CAUGHT
Captured Two Miles South of the City and Returned to Texas

Willie and George Bedford and Tom Cartwright, aged 12, 14 and 16, respectively, were captured late Tuesday afternoon by a deputy sheriff from Grayson County, Texas, about 2 miles south of the city.  The boys were run-aways and were trying to get to Drumright.  They were neighbor boys on farms near Pottsboro, Texas, and decided to get out and see the world. From Pottsboro they went to Denison and from there to Oklahoma City, and on down the Frisco to Depew, where they took the Oil Field and Sapulpa for Shamrock.  There they were forced to continue their journey to this place on foot.
When the officer picked them up there was just 26 cents in the crowd.  The two Bedford boys had a dime apiece and Cartwright had four pennies.  They were brought to this city and left this morning for their homes near Pottsboro.  When the boys were seen just before they started on their journey home, Cartwright said they wanted to come here because it was a live city, and that they wanted to come where they could make some money.  He said they had started out to make their fortune and knew of no better place to star in than in Drumright.  They were hungry when they reached the city and were taken care of by the officer.  They had not had anything to eat for two days when they reached this place.  They were saving the 26 cents for a feast when they reached Drumwright.
