Ft. Worth Gazette June 11, 1891 DAMAGE AT POTTSBORO Special to the Gazette Pottsboro, Tex., June 5 - A driving storm came up here from the south at 4 o'clock and gave us a splendid rain, but the terrible winds did much damage. Graham & Jones' big storehouse was badly shattered and goods much injured. Damage to building and stock about $800. The buggy house of Mrs. Wilkinson, one-half mile east, was demolished, with a fine carriage. The splendid fields of wheat and oats are as flat as pancakes and greatly damaged. The heart of the storm passed a few miles east of here. Pottsboro History Susan Hawkins © 2024 If you find any of Grayson CountyTXGenWeb links inoperable, please send me a message. |
