Houston Daily Post August 5, 1899 ELEVENTH TEXAS CAVALRY 22nd Reunion Was the Most Successful in Years Clarksville, Texas, August 4 - The 22nd reunion of the 11th Texas Cavalry association closed its 2 days' session today with the largest membership attendance in 5 years. The association decorated the grave of Col. John C. Burke, its old commander, this morning. The old officers were re-elected and Pottsboro was selected as the next place of meeting> Senator Chilton was billed for a speech on the first day, but was unable to come on account of the dangerous illness of his wife. Hon. Rosser THomas of Fannin delivered an eloquent address this morning. In the afternoon Hon. Joe Bailey addressed an immense crowd, discussing mainly the questions leading to the Civil War. El Paso Daily Herald August 10, 1899 The 11th Texas Cavalry, which completed its reunion at Clarksville, decided to hold its next reunion at Pottsobor, 8 miles west of Denison, on the first Thursday and Friday in August.
