RURAL NEWS
Pilot Grove
Severala threatening rain clouds have quite obligingly passed around here during the past few days, and the hot sunshine is appreciated by the farmers.
Church attendance was considerably lessened Sunday night on acount of the weather, but the attendance Saturday night and Sunday was good.
Roy G. Robinson of Trenton, who is leading the singing for the revival, conducted the Sunday school Sunday morning.  Mr. Robinson makes Sunday School and young people's work his life study, and the session of that service was unusually interesting and instructive to everyone present.
Johnnie Wilson and family of West Texas have been visiting relatives here the past few days.
S.F. Garland visited relatives in Dallas and Fort Worth the latter part of the week.
Mrs. G.W. Judd and little son have returned from Tom Bean.
Anna Joyce and Earleen Benson visited relatives at Anna the first of the week.
Mr. and Mrs. Gus Holmes and son Max of Trenton were guest Sunday of Mrs. Holmes' parents, Mr. and Mrs. Thad Rhodes.
Mrs. Louise Merritt is visiting friends at Ravenna and Ector this week.
Mrs. Nettie Cannon is quite seriously ill at the home of her sister, Mrs. Arthur Ross.
Mr. and Mrs. Chesley Rhodes of Corsicana visited relatives here a few days last week.
Rev. J.A. Lovell left last week for Caddo, Texas where he will be engaged in revival work for the next two weeks.
Miss Wynema Moran of Bells and Miss Mildred Burks of Tom Bean were guests Friday of Miss Ita Jane Lovell.
Mr. and Mrs. George Holmes and three sons of Chicago were guests Sunday in the home of the Scott brothers.
Mr. and Mrs. Charley Woodruff of Amarillo were guests the first of the week of Mrs. Woodruff's brother, Earl Benson, and family.
Mr. and Mrs. Pascal Binion of Dallas were guests Sunday of Mrs. Z.W. Binion.
George C. Lovell of Fort Worth spent a few days here last week with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. F. Lovell.
Mr. and Mrs. L.E. Miller, Mrs. W.H. Smith and two sons and Miss Velma Scott of Dallas were guests Sunday of their uncle, A.T. Scott, and family.
Mrs. Jim G. Lovell and son Jim Jr. of Fort Worth were weekend guests in the home of F. Lovell and family.
Mr. and Mrs. Byron Birt of Dallas returned here Sunday from a week's visit with Mrs. Birt's mother and grandmother in East Texas.  They were accompanied on the trip by Mrs. Birt's father, A. Neathery.
Mr. and Mrs. Ray Henderson of Anna were weekend guests of relatives here.
