Thursday, February 25, 1926 pg. 4 PILOT GROVE NEWS Mr. and Mrs. D.H. Brewer of Tishomingo, Oklahoma were here last week to see Mrs. A.H. St. John, who is confined to her bed with pneumonia and rheumatism. Mr. and Mrs. Gus Holmes and little son Max of Trenton visited relatives here Sunday. Ralph Judd, who teaches near Celina, came home the first of last week, with a good case of mumps. His brother, Orion Judd, is teaching in his place. Elmer St. John of San Antonio was here for a few days last week to see his mother. His wife and little daughter, Billie Rachel, have been spending a few weeks with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Z.W. Binion. Clara, the 14-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Robinson, was stricken with an attack of acute appendicitis first of last week, carried to a Sherman hospital and operated on Tuesday afternoon. Her condition was very serious, but she is now improving nicely. Mr. and Mrs. Will Judd of Dallas were guests of relatives here Saturday and Sunday. Misses Ona Bell and Euna Lee Hampton of Whitewright spent the week-end here with their sister, Mrs. Howard McSpedden. Wheeler Russell and nieces, Misses Cordelia and Fern Russell, went to Sherman Saturday to see their brother and father, Tom Russell, who has been seriously ill in the hospital there for the past two months. His condition is much better now. The Sunday schools had good and interested attendance Sunday. Rev. Wilson preached at the Methodist Church at the preaching hours. Miss Roberta Sloan, one of the Whitewright teachers, spent the week-end here with her parents. On account of the illness of some of the school pupils who are on the program announced for Monday night, celebrating Washington's birthday, the program was postponed for a few days.
