Friday, August 18, 1916 pg 6 Pilot Grove News Dr. Knox and family of Krum spent Saturday and Sunday with friends here. F.M. Sloan, Ollie Neathery and Stanley Garland were in Sherman last Wednesday. Miss Agnes Goss of Carson has been visiting Miss Maude Thrift. Mrs. Conway of Royse City has been visiting her daughter, Mrs. Brice Garland. Miss Lela Neathery of Canon visited relatives here last week. Mrs. Annabel Finnel of Tom Bean spent Sunday in Pilot Grove. Carey brothers, good roads crew have moved back to Pilot Grove from Whitewright. A grave pit has been opened on Mr. Ashinhursts [sic] farm about two and one half miles west of this place. This section of the good roads will be supplied with gravel from that place. Mrs. Ashinhurst happened to a very painful accident Monday while visiting her daughter, Mrs. Stanley Garland, of Pilot Grove. She slipped on the steps and fell, receiving a fractured rib. Mrs. Joe Canon is seriously ill. Uncle Si Jackson was taken ill at Pilot Grove Sunday night, but is somewhat better at this writing. Bro. Watkins, pastor of the Methodist church here, closed a very successful meeting at Gray Bill Sunday night. Dr. T.J. Neathery of Sherman made a professional call here last week. The revival meeting at the tabernacle, conducted by Bro. Rylant and Dr. George W. Sherman of Denison, is still in progress with an increased interest. There has been quite a number of conversions and several additions to the church.
