Thursday, February 17, 1927 pg. 8 PILOT GROVE NEWS Some farm work is being done this week. The sunshine looks good following last week's rain and gloomy weather. Church services here Sunday had a very light attendance again. Rev. Henderson preached to a full house Sunday night. Born, to Mr. and Mrs. Earl Alley, on the 10th, a daughter. Miss Lois Chism was home from school at Whitewright for the weekend. Miss Marian Barbee spent Monday night with her parents at Whitewright. Miss Valda Smith of Sherman is a guest of Miss Clara Scott this week. Mr. and Mrs. Taylor Scott entertained with a very enjoyable social at their home Monday night, honoring Miss Valda Smith of Sherman. Mrs. George Miller of Westminster is here for a few days visit with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Burr Hulet. Mr. Miller left for Olney Wednesday where he expects to get employment. M.L. Taylor and family of Tom Bean spent Tuesday night with relatives here, leaving Wednesday morning for Lynn county. Mr. Taylor recently bought a quarter section of land near O'Donnell, where they will reside in the future. Van Alstyne trades day attracted a good many Pilot Grove citizens to that place Monday. The school building and school children were ready for the visit of the inspector Tuesday, but the inspector failed to arrive. News is extremely scarce here this week due to so much bad weather.
