PILOT GROVE NEWS
Dr. Birt has purchase a new automobile.
Next Saturday is Decoration Day at the Pilot Grove Cemetery.
Mrs. Hattie Garland returned home Monday, after a few days visit with relatives in G  unter.
Miss Ethel Wilkerson and her brother, Carl, of Oklahoma are visiting their sister, Mrs. L.L. Binion.
Bro. Edwards, president of the Sunday School Convention of Grayson Co unty, assisted by other workers, gave a very interesting program here Sunday evening on the subject of the Sunday school problems in Grayson county.  The quartet boys from Austin College furnished the music for the program.
Howard McSpedden and Herbert Neathery left Wednesday for Denison to join the National Guards.  After passing the required examinations they were sent to Fort Sam Houston at San Antonio for training.  Howard and Herbert are the first of our Pilot Grove boys to respond to our country's call.  We know of no one we had sooner trust to carry Old Glory to the front than these boys, because we feel that they are made of the right kind of material.  We will regret to lose them from our midst, they are an inspiration for our future.  We must, with their parents, assume the burdens they would have helped to carry.   Let us try to emulate the brightness of their smile, the gladsomeness of their greetings, the intensity of their patriotism, and wherever their lot may be cast in defense of the Star Spangled banner we will hold them in loving remembrance on our hearts and minds.
