Friday, September 25, 1914 pg. 7 BRIEFS Mrs. Letha Bevins died Monday at the home of her sister, Mrs. D oyle, at McAlester, Oklahoma. The body was shipped to this city, arriving on the Katy at 2:15 Tuesday afternoon, and conveyed directly to Kentuckytown cemetery, where the funeral service and interment took place. Rev. I.E. Teague, the veteran minister, conducted the services in the presence of a large number of friends and relatives of this pioneer lady. Mrs. Bevins was 65 years of age. She settled at old Kentuckytown in the early days, and made that place her home until about six months ago, when she went to McAlester to reside with her sister, her declining health making it necessary for her to place herself under the care and oversight of relatives. Her brother, Sam Penn, of Shawnee, was here to attend her funeral; also her nephew, Charley Rodman, of Coweta, Oklahoma.
