i Sherman Daily Democrat Thursday, July 29, 1920 pg. 7 HOWE To The Democrat Howe, Tex., July 27 - Mr. and Mrs. E.L. Fields have returned to San Antonio. Mrs. Ella Wood of Paris is visiting Mrs. C.E. Wheat. Misses Pearl and Ruby Burkhalter of Vinita, Oklahoma are visiting Mrs. R.M. Roddy. Miss Elizabeth McCoy spent the week-end in Sherman with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. J.A. Hughes. Mrs. Mattie Hubbard of Houston is visiting her aunt, Mrs. B.V. Tighe. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Morrison have returned to Denison. R.E. Hollingsworth made a business trip to San Antonio this week. Mr. and Mrs. Jay Bryant of Dallas are visiting relatives here this week. Miss Dovie Edmundson of Vinita, Oklahoma visited Mrs. John Grigg last week. Little Miss Bertha Lee Grigg enjoyed her 1st birthday last Saturday by having with her for the afternoon a few of her little brother Homer's friends. The children enjoyed themselves entertaining the little hostess with their childish sports and games. The wee birthday cake with its one little candle and cream cones served by the little hostess, and some kodak pictures made by Mrs. Grigg brought the afternoon to a close, but the birthday for Bertha Lee was not finished until she dropped her one penny in the birthday offering box at Sunday School the following morning and received in return the usual good wishes that attend the birthday exercise. Mrs. J.A. Hughes of Sherman was a Howe visitor Saturday. Mr. Frank Wood of Denton is visiting his sister, Mrs. C.E. Wheat.
