MISS BEUNA HOLCOMB GIVEN SHOWER
A surprise farewell shower was given at the Baptist church Monday afternoon for Miss Buena Holcomb, who is moving
to Van Alstyne.  The church was decorated with cut flowers.

A program directed by Mrs. Lewis Stark included songs by the group, a reading by Miss Holcomb, song by Carolyn
Howard, 4-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Howard, talks by
Mrs. Earl Callaway of Dorchester and Mrs. W.B. Cooke of Gunter.  Refreshments were served from a lace covered table, centered with a silver punch bowl, by Mrs. E. Powell,
Mrs. J.L. Blackburne, Mrs. Earl Callaway, Mrs. Sam Murley, Mrs. Truett Davenport and Mrs. S.L. Ricketts.
Guests included 29 residents of Howe and these from other places: Mrs. Thomas Scoggins, Mrs. Cleo Johnson, Mrs. W.J. Wall, Mrs. Howard Gunter, Miss Almo Wallace, Mrs. Homer Boalss, Mrs. C.B. Cole, Miss Pearl Langford, Mrs. L.D. Barbee, Mrs. D.C. Wallace, Mrs. Durward Bartlett, Mrs. A.C. Bennett, Mrs. R.M. Neavse, Mrs. W.B. Cooke and Mrs. Tommie
Lowery, all of Gunter; Mrs. Tom Mackey and Mrs. Earl Callaway of Dorchester.
