Happy's Cafe northeast corner of Hanning & Denny OUR TOWN by Kim Baird & Bonnie Baker The bounds of our research has taken us back as far as 1907 when Mr. W.W. Collins had a drug store in this building. It was also used as an interurban (electric car) depot. The back of the building was used as a building freight pick-up while the southwestern portion was used as a ticket office. The interurban transit ran from Denison to Dallas. It ran for about forty years and was opened up around 1907. It was closed about 1947. When Highway 5 was opened, the linewas moved one block east to the alleyway next to the post office. The building had many previous owners. Among them are Charlie Holcomb, R.B. Gree, The Wilifords, the McCoys, and Hap Sanford.
