SOCIETY NOTES
Back to School Style Show at Hotel Denison Friday
Ritchie-Freels is sponsoring a "Back to School" style show, Friday afternoon at 3 o'clock at Hotel Denison, featuring the "just right" clothes for the college girls who are all in a whirl these last few days of summer vacation, which prefaces the most memorable occasion of their lives - going away to college. This year's graduates particularly are anxious and determined to be dressed "just right" for every occasion that will present itself, from a casual stroll down the campus to the most formal evening entertainments. Naturally they are thinking first about their clothes and perhaps, secondly about their education.
Mrs. Edna Freels has arranged an elaborate display of just what is right for the college girl. Her dresses and other apparel will be modeled by a group of these youngsters, some of whom are enrolling in their first year's work.
The models will be: Billie Marie Allen, a 1938 graduate of Denison high school, who has registered at Stephen's College in Columbia, Missouri; Eleanor Brous, who plans to return to T.S.C.U. at Denton for her second year; Ann Clymer, who attended the University of Texas last year and will go to S.M.U. the coming term; Alice Freels, another 1938 graduate will marticulate at Austin College at Sherman; Mary Jane Haden, who will enroll in Maryville, at St. Louis; Eileen Kain, at St. Xavier's graduate, who will go to the University of Texas; Gertrude Patterson who will go to Austin College; Rose Marie Riddle, who finished this spring at S.M.U.; Frances Shaffer who goes to Oklahoma University this year; Alice Spinker whos plans are still indefinite; Ellen Malacha Sacra, whose choic is Our Lady of Victory college in Fort Worth; and Katheryn Waltz, who wil reenter T.S.C.W. at Denton.
An invitation has been extended to all the girls, their mothers and their friends to attend the style show.
