July 7, 1938 SNOW-WHITE LAUNDERY MODERNLY EQUIPPED, OPERATES 6 TRUCKS With no piece of its many thousand dollars worth of machinery as much as two years old, the Snow-White laundry, cleaning and dyeing plant, 316 West Woodard street, is among the state's bestequipped and most modern laundry. The laundry was established more than three decades ago and Luther Cherry, present owner, joined with J.C. Baker in August of 1923 to purchase the plant. Mr. Cherry then was a driver for a Sherman laundry and started a successful business career from "scratch". Mr. Baker later sold his interest to B.G. Smith who was associated with Mr. Cherry untill a few years ago when the latter became the exclusive owner of the equipment, building and the Snow-White garage across the street. The company employes thirty-two persons with its annual payroll around $21,000. Many of the employes have been with the firm for a number of years.
