The Sunday Gazetteer
Sunday, May 4, 1884 pg. 4 A sort of beer garden has been attached to the Buckhorn saloon, opposite this office, and the attraction this past week has been a female band. We do not know that there is any law that applies to females degrading themselves by entertainments for the promiscuous crowds of men who visit such places, but there is an ordinance applicable to female beer jerkers, and if we are correctly informed these women frequently pass the foaming beverage to their male admirer. We are futher informed that City Marshal Hall is part proprietor of this saloon. At best females in such a place have a demoralizing influence, and an official occupying Mr. Hall's responsible position is the last one who should countenance such public exhibitions.
