The First State Bank opened on the ground floor in September 1907. Bank executives may have thought that hosting the big poultry show a few weeks later would be good publicity. Mrs. Bell, pictutred in photograph above, placed 1st in White Rocks - Breeding pen; 1st in White Rocks ~ Pair & 2nd in White Rocks ~ Pair, cockerel & pullet. She also placed 1st in Black Minorcas - Breeding pen. Mrs. Bell took 1st & 2nd place in Rhode Island Reds ~ Breeding pen as well as Rhode Island Reds ~ Pair, cock & hen
