1907 Denison Charter Committee Pat Tobin (7) in this
photo is credited with being the first
engineer to drive a train into Texas. On December 24th. 1872
(Christmas
Eve) he drove a MKT work locomotive over the newly constructed Red
River
Bridge and into the City of Denison to much fanfare!The train
to officially have the honor was not scheduled to arrive until Christmas Day!But no one remembers the engineer of that train. Pat Tobin served on the Denison Charter Committee for several years.
