Sunday, March 18, 1906 EARLY DAYS IN DENISON Items of local and General Interest Taken from the Columns of the Denison News Week Ending March 16, 1878 Prof. L.L. Thaon, formerly a drill master in the French army, opened a fencing school in Denison. He taught his pupils fencing with toils, the use of broad swords, but also how to handle dexteriously the Irish Shillalab.
