RETIRED COLLINSVILLE BANKER, MAYOR DIES
Collinsville - Services for William F. de Cordova, 70, a retired banker and a former mayor Collinsville who died Sunday at a Dallas hospital after a long illness, will be held 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Richards Funeral Chapel, conducted by Rev. Hugh Newsom of Miller Memorial Baptist CHurch of Collinsville, assisted by Rev. Leroy Martin, Baptist minister of Gainesville.
Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery in Shawnee, Okla. Graveside services there will be at 3 p.m.
He was born in Tioga, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank de Cordova. He married Mallie Lou Stooksbury Dec. 9, 1932. He was the may of Collinsville from 1957 to 1968 and president of the Collinsville State Bank from 1964 to 1971. At the time of his death he was vice president and a member of the board of directors of the bank.
Before coming to Collinsville he was a member of the auditing force of Oklahoma Natural Gas Co. in Tulsa, Okla. He was a 32nd degree Mason and a member of the Presbyterian church.
Surviving are his widow of Collinsville; and a nephew, Jack de Cordova of Denton.
The family requests that donations be given to the heart fund.
Pallbearers are Bob Light, Manuel Carney, Clifford McGehee, Dewey Tipton, Walter Paul Anderson, Dr. Jerald M. Graham. Honorary pallbearers will be the directors of the Collinsville State Bank.
The family will be at the funeral home Monday from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m.
