Thursday, May 10, 1906 pg. 3 Cedar Mills, Tex., May 7 - These continued rains are making farming very uncertain. Corn should be plowed and chopped, but on account of the rain it is almost impossible to get into the fields. Cotton that has been planted some time is being greatly damaged and those who have not planted yet will be so late that the crop will not mature in time to be gathered. These rains have caused Big Mineral to overflow its banks and flood all the low lands. The bridge across Big Mineral near Cedar Mills has been greatly damaged during the recent rains, so much so that it is almost impassable. The mail carrier out from Pottsboro has not crossed it for 3 days. H.H. Hayes, who has been on a visit at Quinton, I.T., has returned. Miss Grace Manis and her brother, who have been very low with pneumonia are very much improved. W.W. Crain, Sr. was able to be driving in his buggy Saturday. Mrs. Bynum, who was carried to the home of her sister, Mrs. Holland, near Pottsboro thinking the change would help her, has returned unimproved and very low. Sam Hull, overseer of the road gang of Sandusky was here last week to see what could be done with the bridge across Mineral.
