CANAAN - EVERHEART
Rev. Henry Grady May of Whitewright preached at the Methodist church here Sunday.
The pretty weather of late has afforded farmers ample time to sow the wheat crop, gather corn and the remnant cotton.
J.W. Webster and wife and Miss Edna Cowens visited Edgar Montgomery and family of near town Sunday.
F.E. Alverson and daughters, Misses Irene and Isabell and Mr. Austin Bowles and sister, Mrs. Marion Jefferies, motored to Dallas Friday where they were guests of relatives and attended the State Fair.
Mrs. J.D. Garner and son, Lafayette, are visiting Mr. and Mrs. Lester Ferguson at Ivanhoe.
C.D. Alverson and Miss Lorene attended the district singing convention at Ida Sunday.
Homer Sears, J.D. McMillin and wife were Saturday visitors to Sherman.
Gorge Garner entertained a few of his piano pupils Saturday with a slumber party.  Those present were: Misses Willie, Josie and Rennie Graves of Ely; Beatrice Beasley of Whitewright; and Tommie Bell Garner of Orangeville.
Charley Bronaugh and family of near town were Sunday guests of F.E. Alverson and family.
Miss Mabel Fae White was hostess for a dinner party Sunday, complimentory to the members of Mr. Garner's house party.
Mr. and Mrs. Monroe Bryant of town were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Everheart Sunday.
Miss Euline Wakefield went to Nobility Friday, where she will attend school this term.
Several of our people heard Dr. Sears lecture on "Don't Worry" at town Monday night.
Our school opened Monday with Miss Anne Francis of Tom Bean as teacher.
