CANAAN-EVERHEART
Our community was visited Thursday night by one of the heaviest rains we have seen for years.  Considerable damange was done to wheat and oats by the recent cold weather.  Some peopel say it was the coldest weather we have had for 15 years.  But this has all passed now and the sun is shining again as bright as ever.
The prayer meeting and Sunday school are making efforts to come to the front again.
Tom Hicks has returned home after an absence of two months at Kansas City, where he was a student in the Sweeney automobile school of that city.
J.E. Rutledge is visiting friends at San Angelo.
W.A. Kirkpatrick and L.P. Sears spent Sunday with H.H. Sears and wife.
Mr. and Mrs. Lester Ferguson of Ivanhoe are guests of J.D. Garner and family.
Mrs. A.I. Bowles is visiting her daughter, Mrs. Frank Alverson.
Allie Alverson and Miss Magoline Alverson of Kentuckytown were guests of J.D. McMillin and family Sunday.
Roy Coffman and family of White Mound are visiting relatives here.
Miss Marion Simmons of Whitewright is teaching the primary department of the school instead of Mr. Haydon Hamilton, as previously stated.
Mrs. J.E. Rutledge spent Monday with Mrs. J.D. Garner.
Mr. and Mrs. Jim Carter of Cooper are visiting A.C. Keeling and family.
