The Whitewright Sun
Friday, August 25, 1916 pg. 6 CANAAN - EVERHEART The weather continues dry, the good roads dusty and everybody is crying for rain. Rev. H.G. May of Whitewright filled the pulpit at the Methodist church Sunday morning. Bro. May is a new hand at preaching the gospel, but his sermons are well delivered and appreciated here. We anticipate for him a bright future in this noble profession he has chosen. Vaughn & White, ginners, have begun the ginning season and are now in full sway. The Methodist-Presbyterian revival closed Thursday night, resulting in 6 conversions and 10 additions to the churches. Missess Lorene and Inez McMillin, Mr. and Mrs. J.D. Garner and sons, George and Fate, and Frank Clark were Kentuckytown visitors Sunday. Messrs. Joe and Connie Mills and sister, Miss Blanche, of Ladonia are guests of L.E. Garner and family. Mr. and Mrs. J im Carter and Mrs. Jake Purcell and children of Cooper have returned h om after a visit with A.C. Keeling and family. W.L. White was a business visitor to Dallas Monday.
