CANAAN - EVERHEART
The Epworth League of Bells came out Sunday night and rendered a splendid program.  We were glad to have this band of Christian workers with us and Mr. Arthur Graves, president of the League, informed us that he would be with us again at an early date to assist in organizing a League in this community.  This seems just what our young people need and want and it is hopeful that they will get together and organize soon.  Several  have already signified their willingness to do so.
Uncle Dave Alverson is on the sick list.
C.M. Blanton and family and Miss Laura Wakefield visited relatives at Orangeville Sunday.
C.B. Alverson and family spent Sunday with relatives at Kentuckytown.
Mrs. J.W. Smith and children of Denison visited J.D.Garner and family last of the week.
Misses Bertha Cox, Mable Everheart, and Dessie Reynolds visited friends in town last of the week.
E.C. Lankford has returned to his home at Honey Grove after an extended visit with relatives here.
Mr. and Mrs. Joe Marshall and daughter, Miss Mattie, of Hooker, Oklahoma, Mrs. J.C. Doty and children of Myra, Texas and P.A. Short and family of Whitewright were weekend guests of F.E. Alverson and family.
Mr. and Mrs. F.E. Alverson motored to Blue Ridge Sunday.
Mrs. J.W.Taylor celebrated her 53rd anniversary Sunday with a dinner party.  The following were present: E.J. Lamb and wife, Mrs. Floyd Jones, Foster Ferguson and wife, Walter Taylor and wife, L.H. Taylor and family, G.T. McConley and family, Elzie Taylor and family and Roy Taylor and family.
