Cannan
The revival meeting began at the Everheart Memorial church Thursday night of last week.  Rev. F.B. Wheeler is preaching some very good sermons to large congregations.  The meeting will close Sunday evening.
A good rain fell here Sunday morning and evening, which was needed.  We have very good prospects for cotton, much better than was expected, although picking will be late.
The Cannan school began September 1, with Miss Bessie Biggerstaff as teacher.  There is very good attendance.
Mrs. Chas. Alexander has been at the bedside of her sister, Miss Hardcastle of near Kentuckytown, who died Sunday, after an illness of several weeks.
F.E. Alverson, W.L. White, Austin Bowles, Tom Hicks, and Dave Turner were in Dallas Sunday, making a trip in Mr. Alverson's auto.
Ora Roberts of the Thompsonville community visited Foy Edens last of the week.
Homer Sears and Ira Kirkpatrick of Whitewright were callers at the home of J.E. Everheart Sunday.
Mrs. J.H. Garner is visiting in Wolfe City this week.
Miss Maggie Everheart spent Saturday night with Miss Eva Harris.
Gladys McMurry of Whitewright is spending the week with the Misses Cox.
J.D. Garner and wife and daughter, Laura, visited relatives near Savoy Thursday.
