We learn from the Postmaster that the
post office at Red River City has been
discontinued. the key, papers,
etc belonging to the office were
turned over to the Denison Post Office
on Saturday last. All letters
directed to Red river city are now
delivered from the Denison office.
The route agents on the Houston and
Texas Central Railway stop here in
Denison, now the terminus of the road.
The cause given by the Post
Office Department for discontinuance
is that it is unnecessary to have the
use of the post office at Red River
City.
