ALMS HOUSE

What Superintendent Wilkins Has to Say.

Superintendent P.P. Wilkins, of the county Alms House and Poor Farm, was inthe city today, and stated that the affairs of the institution were never in a better conditions, or less sickness among the inmates.
The last addition to the list of guests is Simon Gramari, who received injuries about the shoulder, which have rendered him incapable of earning a livelihood by manual labor.  He has been assigned to the hospital department and is said to be getting along well under the treatment of Dr. Gunby, county physician.
Charles Moore, who has been an inmate of the place for 8 years and who is afflicted with an incurable disease was sent to Hot Springs by advice of the county physician today.

ALMS HOUSE
A Few Dots of Interest From That Institution

Superintendent Wilkins of the Alms House and County Poor Farm was in the city this morning, and reports that he has harvested the wheat crop, and that the yield bids fair to be far in excess of what he expected.  The vegetable or garden department is also in excellent shape.  The health of the inmantes of the Alms House is reported by the health officer, Dr. I.P. Grumby, to be much better than has been known in the hospital department for several months, and the number of helpless invalids in the hands of the keeper is small.
It is siad that two of the unfortunate girls heretofore mentioned in the Register have succeeded in finding homes.
