GRAYSON COUNTY ORPHANS
Three Children Sent to Mrs. I.Z.T. Morris at Ft. Worth
Through
the efforts of Judge Dayton B. Steed, of the county court, three
children, inmates of the county poor farm northwest of Sherman, have
been takenf rom the farm and will be place in good homes. The
children, one girl and two boys, have been sent to the Texas Children's
Home and AId Society in Ft. Worth, where they will be kept until proper
homes can be found for them, the institution acting as an agency for
bringing the homeless child and the childless home together.
But one
child is left at the farm northwest of town now, and every effort is
being made to secure a good home with a respectable family for it.
This is a condition that has long been sought at the county farm,
as it has never been felt that this was the proper place for dependent
children, and the move to place them in private homes is a part of the
plan worked out to better conditions at the place.
The children, all
of them orphans, who were taken to Ft. Worth are: Susie Lane, Benson
Arnold and Frank Arnold. The institution in which they will be
placed for the present is private and is in charge of Mrs. I.Z.T.
Morris.
