THREE CHILDREN SLIDE POLE TO SAFETY WHILE HOUSE AFIRE
Sherman, Texas, July 14 - The three children of Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Williams, northeast of Van Alstyne, slid to safety down a long pole placed against the second story of the house when fire destroyed the farm dwelling early Thursday morning. The children were sleeping in a upstairs room and they were cut off by the flames.
The fire was not discovered until the roof of the dwelling began falling in, the flames originated in the ceiling of the second story. The building and its contents were practically....
