Letter From The Philipines. (sic)

The Democrat is in receipt of a letter dated April 30, from Bolivar
Falconer who is a member of the civil service bureau for the
Phillipine
Islands. Mr. Falconer says that the temperature there is very
high now and expects there will be some suffering among those not
yet accustomed to that climate.
His brother, Albert, who spent several
weeks with homefolks here, arrived at Manilla the day the letter was
written. He returned via the northern route, going as far
north as the Aleutian Islands, encountering much snow and ice.
Both these young men are Marlin boys who have, by their attention to
business and their ability, gained responsible and lucrative
positions in Uncle Sam's service.
