Robert Leonard Cohn
Surnames: COHN, REED, FIFE, ALEXANDER, KOEHNE, WASEK, MCMAHN, MILLER, PALASOTTA, POLK, GARCIA, YEAGER.Robert Leonard Cohn, b November 1, 1914 in Falls County, Texas - was a son of Charles and Mary Jo ("Mollie" Reed) Cohn - natives of Falls County. On January 26,1936, Robert Leonard married Mattie Mae Fife, b March 26,1922 at Ben Hur, Limestone County, Texas - a daughter of Stephen Thomas Fife, b October 2, 1880 in Mississippi, d September 4, 1957 in Limestone County, and his wife, Theresa Mae (Alexander) Fife, b March 4, 1887 in Texas, d July 28, 1949 in Limestone County.
"Leonard" and Mattie reared their four sons at his farm on the McClanahan Road east of Marlin, Texas, and their children attended the Marlin schools and participated in football and band activities. Leonard was also employed by the Lone Star Gas Company, in addition to his farming and ranching, but is now retired.
Robert Leonard and Mattie Mae (Fife) Cohn had four sons:
Gary Lynn Cohn, b August 23,1940 - married August 14, 1959 to Judy Elaine Koehne, b June 8, 1941 - a daughter of Fred and Lillian (Wasek) Koehne. Gary is an agent for Allstate Insurance, and resides in Arlington, Texas. They have two children: Susanne Cohn, b 1960 - married Stephen McMahan, and has Stephen Cody McMahan, b March 4, 1986; and Gregory Lynn Cohn, b May 10, 1966 who is not married.
Ernest Dwain Cohn, b February 9, 1943 - married December 12, 1964 in Houston, Texas to Cathy Miller. Dwain Works for the Texas Department of Public Safety in the South Texas area, and Cathy is a Police Lieutenant at Interpol Airport in Houston. They have two sons: Wade Allen Cohn, b July 26,1966, and Audie Ray Cohn b February 26, 1969.
Donald Gene Cohn, b January 5,1945 - married in 1967 to Pauletta Jo Palasotta - a daughter of Joseph and Ruby (Polk) Palasotta. Don is a Captain in the Department of Public Safety, and is presently assigned to the McAllen area. He and Pauletta have one son, Donald Joseph Cohn, b August 2, 1968.
Kenneth Doyle Cohn, b March 9, 1946 - married August 25, 1967 to Nancy Garcia - a daughter of Dr. Pedro and Hettie Pearl (Yeager) Garcia of Marlin. Kenneth is a Certified Public Accountant at Southdowns, Inc. in Houston, Texas. They have two sons: Stephen Todd Cohn,b July 22,1973 in Houston, and Keith Ryan Cohn, b October 11, 1976 in Houston.
