John Wesley Bryant, b September 7, 1847 in Greenville, South Carolina, d May 25, 1925 in Falls County, Texas - the eighth of twelve children of Joab and Mary (Stuart) Bryant, b July 16, 1816 in Spartanburg, South Carolina, d April 15, 1880 - a son of James R. and Germima (Dillard) Bryant; and his wife, Mary (Stuart) Bryant, b July 16, 1816 in Spartanburg, South Carolina, d March 24, 1889 there - and both Joab and Mary were buried in the Liberty Methodist Church Cemetery in Spartanburg.On July 28, 1870 in Spartanburg, South Carolina, John Wesley Bryant married Sarah Jane Lively, b February 12, 1852, d November 5, 1914 in Falls County, Texas - a daughter of Anderson and Elizabeth Lively.
John Wesley and Sarah Jane (Lively) Bryant moved to Milam County, Texas, arriving there before November 26, 1871, and remaining there until about 1884 when they moved to Chilton, Falls County, Texas. They had eleven children, seven born in Milam County, and the last four in Falls County, Texas:

Joseph Anderson Bryant, b July 4, 1880, d March 6, 1954 - married Kate McDonald.
Bessie Pearl Bryant, b May 12, 1882, d March 24, 1908 - married Will Greer.
John Cleveland Bryant, b May 12, 1885 in Chilton, Falls County, Texas, d May 10, 1967 - married Bertha Greer.
Alice Earl Bryant, b May 28, 1887, d March 11, 1955 - married Wilmer Key Martin.
Sarah Edna Bryant, b August 5, 1889, d July 19, 1916 - married Jud Erwin.
Mamie Kate Bryant, b April 6, 1891, d June 19, 1926 - married Erbert Erwin.
John Wesley and Sarah Jane (Lively) Bryant were both buried in the Chilton Cemetery at Chilton, Falls County, Texas.
