Charles Marcus Boyd, b August 1, 1884 in Falls County, Texas, d December 6,1931 and buried in Powers Chapel Cemetery - was the eldest son of William James Boyd and his second wife, Martha J. (Brannon) Boyd, of Mississippi.

On December 17, 1905, Charles was married to Bessie Myrtle Weldon, b May 21,1888 in Falls County, Texas, d January 6,1981 and buried in Powers Chapel - a daughter of James S. Weldon, b 1847 in Alabama, and his wife, Delany M. (Tolbert) Weldon, b 1853 in Georgia.

Charles and Bessie had seven children:
Bennie Melvin Boyd, b November 21, 1906.

Clarence Felton Boyd, b October 22, 1908 in Falls County, Texas, d June 1, 1968 and buried in Peebles Cemetery at Goodrich, Texas - married on August 13, 1934 to Eva May Glidden, b August 2, 1914 in Polk County, Texas - a daughter of Walter T. Glidden, b November 5, 1886 in Trinity County, Texas, and Annie L. McComb, b June 2,1896 in Polk County, Texas. Clarence and Eva had three children: Janis Louise Boyd, b September 26, 1936 in Polk County, Texas; Charles Felton Boyd, Jr., b July 20, 1938 in Polk County; and Billy Don Boyd, b September 16, 1943 in Bell County, Texas who married July 22,1967 to Beverley Dianne Betts, b January 6, 1945 in Anderson County, Texas - a daughter of Houston Edward and Floy Irene (Sunrall) Betts, of Leon County, and had Stephen Douglas Boyd, b January 8, 1972 in Houston, Harris County, Texas, and Jennifer Sue Boyd, b May 28, 1974 in Houston.
