Alfred Greenberry Bone
Alfred Greenberry Bone, b March 12, 1859 at Granbury, Texas, d March 11, 1940 near Lott in Falls County, Texas and buried in Clover Hill Cemetery at Lott - was a son of Young Ewing and Sarah (Rozell) Bone.Alfred married first on October 26, 1879 to Alice Gentry, who died in 1880 "with child," and buried in Cottonwood Cemetery - a daughter of W. W. Gentry. On May 16, 1886, Alfred married second to Sarah Francis - a daughter of James Buchanan and Bettie (Miller) Francis. Alfred and Sarah had one son, Joseph Bone, b 1887, and both Sarah ("Sally") and little Joe died in 1888 and were buried in Beulah Cemetery near Tomlinson Hill. On September 12, 1889, Alfred married third to Ida Rdell Watkins, b November 6,1873 in Jackson County, Alabama, d December 26, 1938-a daughter of Martin Reese and Mary Elizabeth(Sublett)Watkins. Alfred and Ida are both buried in Clover Hill Cemetery at Lott.
Alfred and Ida Bone lived near and around Lott, and then New Salem in Falls County where they were engaged in farming and ranching. Their eleven children attended school at New Salem:
Lossie Franklin Bone, b February 23, 1891 near Lott in Falls County, Texas, d December 16, 1918 and buried in Clover Hill Cemetery -- married Echo Polk, b ca 1895, now resides in a nursing in Marlin, Texas -- had a son, J. T. Bone, who was wounded in military service during World War II and died in 1971.
Nick Elmo Bone, b February 21, 1893 near Lott, d February 20, 1969 at Whitesboro, Texas -- married Carrie Smith, and had a daughter, Ruby Bone.
Ben Bennial Bone, b May 1, 1895 near Lott--married Ada Reynolds and had Margie, Melvin, and Chris-tine Bone. Ada (Reynolds) Bone married second to Thomas Eugene Windham, and had no children.
Bettie William Bone, b November 18, 1897 near Lott, d in 1983 at Port Arthur, Texas -- married Emil McKee Lyon of Amarillo, Texas, and had three children.
Lu Etta Bone, b April 26, 1900 near Lott -- married John Lewis Windham, b November 7, 1900, and had five children.
Minnie Mae Bone, b August 13, 1902 near Lott, d January 21, 1918, and buried in Clover Hill Cemetery at Lott.
Infant Son Bone, b March 11, 1905, d March 12, 1905, and buried in Clover Hill Cemetery at Lott.
Ida Lee Bone, b June 12, 1906 near Lott, d May 19, 1973 and buried in Evergreen Cemetery at Conroe, Texas -- married Jess McKinzie and had six children in Falls County, Texas before moving to Conroe.
Alfred Greenberry Bone, Jr., b July 6, 1909, d Sep-tember 6, 1914, and buried in Clover Hill Cemetery at Lott.
Marshall Hayes Bone, b July 28, 1912 near Lott, d September 24, 1932 near Lott and buried in Clover Hill Cemetery at Lott.
Erma Lena Bone, b May 25, 1915 near Lott--married Cariel Vaughan and reared four children in Falls County: Alpha Jean, Lonnie Earl, Aubrey, and Elton Gordon Vaughan.
