Samuel Bell, b 1812 in South Carolina, d December 8, 1899 at Stranger and buried in Stranger Cemetery - married ca 1835 in South Carolina to Anna (maiden name no known), b July 12, 1815 in South Carolina, d October 10, 1876 at Stranger, Falls County, Texas and buried there in Stranger Cemetery.

Samuel and Anna Bell immigrated to Texas in 1852 - probably traveling with the Erskines, McAllisters, Todds, and the Henry Steele family - and settled in the Stranger Community of East Falls County (then called "Blue Ridge"). The "Bell Hill Road" from Stranger to Marlin was named for this family.

Samuel and Anna Bell were the parents of nine children:
Margaret A. Bell, b January 6, 1836 in South Carolina, d April 12, 1913 and buried at Stranger Cemetery - married ca 1866 to Elias Pool, b October 14, 1826 in South Carolina, d November 14, 1903 and buried in Stranger Cemetery. They had Robert Pool; Ellen Pool who married N. Kirby of Groesbeck; Annie Bell Pool who married john Thomas Briggs; and Lenora E. Pool who married Taylor F. Brothers.

William Andrew Bell, b 1838 in South Carolina, d February 1862 at Val Verde, New Mexico during the Civil War, while fighting with Captain Willis Lang's Lancer Company. He had enlisted in Marlin, Texas in Company B, Green's Brigade, Hardiman's Division, Sibley's Brigade, of the Confederate States Army. He was not married.

Mary Susan Bell, b December 6, 1839 in South Carolina, d August 19, 1874 and buried in Stranger Cemetery - married first to William R. Todd, who died during his service with the Confederate States Army, and had James S. Todd, b 1859, and Thomas Todd, b ca 1861. Mary Susan (Bell) Todd married second to Hugh L. Parton, b ca 1840 in Alabama, and had Violet Parton, b 1867, and Anna Parton, b 1870.

James Augustus Bell, b May 31, 1842 in South Carolina, d December 29, 1928 and buried in Garrett Cemetery at Stranger, Falls County, Texas - married on September 9, 1861 in Falls County, Texas to Amanda M. Erskine, b 1838 in McMinn County Tennessee, d 1886 and buried in Garrett Cemetery at Stranger - a daughter of Hugh and Jane (Richards) Erskine.

Nancy Amanda Bell, b 1845 in South Carolina - married James Brothers, b 1845 in Red River County, Texas - a son of Jesse D. and Matilda (Maulding) Brothers, who settles in the Stranger Community (then called Blue Ridge) in 1851. They had two known sons: James Milton Brothers, b October 1867, who married Sarah A. Griffith (called Sallie), b July 1869 at Stranger, Fall County, Texas - a daughter of Lenore and Sarah (Owens) Griffith; and Andrew Brothers, b February 1871, at Stranger.

Violet Ephemia Bell, b 1847 in South Carolina.

Letha A. Bell, b January 16, 1850 in South Carolina, d July 19, 1885 and buried in Stranger Cemetery at Stranger - who married Volney Metcalf.

John P. Bell, b 1853 in Stranger, Falls County, Texas - married January 3, 1886 in Falls County, Texas to Frances Griffith (called "Fannie") - a daughter of Leonard Lenore and Sarah (Owens) Griffith, natives of South Carolina, who settled in the Stranger Community of Falls County after the Civil War.
