Walter W. & Julia Adams Bass
Walter W. Bass, b October 6, 1876 Giles Co. TN, d July 23, 1935 Roswell, Chavez Co. NM, was the son of John Bass and Temperance Sumner. He married Julia Rogers Adams on October 6, 1876 in Burnet, TX. Julia Adams was the widow of Jesse L. Adams, who had died some years before. In 1880 the family was in Bartlett, Williamson Co. TX. By 1900 they were still in the same area. After the death of Julia, Walter moved to NM where the oldest son was living, remaining there until his death on July 23, 1935. Mr. Bass was a veteran of the Civil War, having joined the Confederate Army in 1861.The children of Walter W. & Julia Adams Bass were:

John Harney, b September 13, 1877 in San Saba, San Saba Co., TX, d June 21, 1960, in San Angelo, Tom Green Co. TX, buried in Roswell, Chavez Co., NM, married first to Clara Rathbon in about 1902 in TX. To this union were born four children: Leslie (1903-1979), Oneta B. (1904-1989), John H. Jr. (1907-1946), Jess (1908-1979). No information available for second wife.
Walter Rogers "Wash", b January 14, 1881 in TX, d February 4, 1977 Andrews, Andrews Co. TX, buried in Fairmount Cem., San Angelo, Tom Green Co., TX, married Myrtle Lee Owens. To this union were born two children: Juanita (1920-1968), Charles R. (1939-1974).
