Henry Thomas Barton
Surnames: BARTON, MIERS, LAMBERT, PEARCE, VARNADOHenry Thomas Barton, b February 21, 1881, d August 6, 1948 - was a son of Henry F. and Easter(Miers) Barton. In 1902, he married Myrtle Hickman, b September 15, 1883, d February 8, 1972 - a daughter of Jesse B. Hickman, b.1850, d 1932 and his wife, Emma (Lambert) Hickman, b 1862, d 1945. Henry Thomas and Myrtle were buried in McClanahan Cemetery by her parents, and they were all active members of the McClanahan Baptist Church.
Henry Thomas Barton was Falls County Sheriff 1925-1930, and later was a U.S. Marshall. He and Myrtle reared two children:
Bernice, b September 4, 1 1903. d September 19, 1967 in Marlin - married Carroll Pearce, b November 23, 1893, d May 14, 1975, who was a veteran of World War I and served as Falls County judge 1934-1938. Carroll and Bernice had two daughters, Estelle and Jeannine Pearce.
Henry Garland Barton, b March 7, 1913 at McClanahan, d October 5, 1979 of a heart attack - married July 2, 1938 to Nell Lois Garrett, b June 6, 1914 at Stranger, Falls County, Texas - a daughter of Edward Guy and Hattie Alma (Varnado) Garrett, Sr.
