Funeral Services for J. F. Walts of Perry Held Thursday
J. F. Walts, 66, of Perry, prominent farmer of the Otto
and Perry community, died Tuesday, Dec. 9, at 4:45 p.m. in a Marlin hospital,
following several days of illness. He was born Feb. 4, 1886, at Thornton,
moving to Perry in 1926, and had lived there and at Otto ever since. He
was a member of the Baptist church.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the
Criswell school house, with Minister Malcolm Smith, pastor of the Groesbeck
Church of Christ officiating. Burial in Criswell cemetery.

Survivors include his wife; six sons, Joseph Alvie,
Richard T., Roland F. and Billy L. Walts of Fort Hood, Johnny F. of Mart and
Robert C. of Groesbeck; five daughters, Mrs. J.E. Cannon of Fort Hood, Mrs.
Chas. Schrader of Perry, Mrs. Horace Fowler of Uvalde, Mrs. Paul Papendorf of
Chicago, Ill., and Mrs. Bill McDaniel of Fort Hood; one brother, Henry Walts of
Criswell; one sister, Mrs. Adie Bowers of Criswell; five half brothers, two half
sisters; 43 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
