W. G. Wolf Dies at Near Mart; Funeral Friday



     Death claimed Walter G. Wolf, age 52, Wednesday afternoon, Jan. 9, 1935, at the family residence near Mart after an illness of many months.  He spent five months at Carlsbad trying to regain his health, but it was to no avail and he finally grew much worse and was brought about a week ago.  Mr. Wolf had resided in the Mart-Otto communities for many years and was a good man and neighbor, a friend to all.  During his lifetime he made a host of friends who are now grieved at his passing but are happier to have known him.

     Funeral service has been set for Friday afternoon from the family residence at 2 o’clock, conducted by Rev. C. Mueller, pastor of St. John’s Evangelical church of Otto, of which Mr. Wolf had been a faithful and honored member for many years.  Interment will be made in St. John’s cemetery, with E. P. Littlepage, undertaker of Mart, in charge of funeral arrangements.

     Surviving deceased are his wife, Mrs. W. G. Wolf, and five children:  Walter and Robert, Mart Rt. 5; Erwin Wolf, Criswell community; Mrs. G. W. Simmons of Little Elm, and Mrs. O. A. Schriber of Riesel.  Nine grandchildren are also surviving, as do the following brothers and sisters:  A. J. Wolf, Eureka; Mrs. J. J. Mercer, Thornton; Mrs. D. D. Jones and Mrs. J. H. Maines, also of Thornton; and two half-brothers, F. H. Wolf of Reagan and E. L. Wolf of Criswell, and a half-sister, Stella Wolf of Criswell.
