Reuben ‘Blaine’ Williams

MARLIN —
Services for Reuben “Blaine” Williams, 79, of Hammond are set for 2 p.m. Sunday
at Adams Funeral Chapel in Marlin.
Burial will be
in Mustang Prairie Cemetery near Kosse.
Visitation will
be from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Mr. Williams
died Thursday in Temple.
He was born in
Mustang Prairie and graduated from Kosse High School in 1942. He was a member of
New Hope Baptist Church in Mustang and was the last surviving member of that
church. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a member of the
Hearne Veterans of Foreign Wars post. He drilled oil and water wells and retired
from Layne Western Water Wells in 1985.
He was preceded
in death by a son, Ronald B. Williams; and a daughter, Shirley Ann Williams.
Survivors
include four daughters and two sons-in-law, Jeanne and Antone Wierzbicki Jr. and
Cheryl Williams, all of Bremond, Cathy and T. J. Earhart of Alvin and Sammy
Winstead of Hearne; two sons and three daughters-in-law, Rick B. and Barbara
Williams of Katy, Johnny and Yvonne Williams of Kosse and Betty Kwiatkowski of
Bremond; two sisters, Katherine Williams of Waco and Audrey Streetman of
Oklahoma City; the mother of his children, Ann P. Meadors and her husband,
Kenneth, of Hearne; 15 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and numerous
nieces, nephews and other relatives.
