Dies Remote From Friends.
-----

Among strangers and apparently without relatives or close friends anywhere, a man who gave his name as Waldrop, died Monday night at 10 o'clock at Laxson boarding house on Island street.
He was about 45 or 50 years of age and had been at the house about two weeks.  He was supposed to be without funds, until the case was reported to the city authorities when City Attorney Jones questioned him as best he could when the fact developed that he was supplied with funds sufficient to meet his present needs or for some time in the future.
He requested Mr. Jones to look after him, to take charge of his money, provide medicine, clothing, etc., which was done.
The man would or could give no information as to any relatives or much satisfactory information as to where he came from.
The cause of the death is believed to have been dysentary.
