JUDGE I. G. SEARCY DEAD.

He was a Member of the State Administra-
tion During Hubbard's Term.
Austin, Texas, April 24--Judge I. G.
Searcy, who at one time was secretary of state, died here yesterday afternoon,
after passing the seventieth year of his life. He had been residing at
Rosebud and came here about six weeks ago for treatment. His son H. C.
Searcy of Rosebud, arrived here this mornign to make arrangements for his
funeral.
The remaines (sic) were interred in the
State cemetery.
The deceased was a member of Governor
Hubbard's government and was internal revenue collector under Cleveland, the
first time. A wife, son and daughter are both ill at and are unable to
attend (t)he funeral.
