Former Temple Man
Dies as Result of
Fall From Derrick

FUNERAL OF OSCAR W. STONE
TO BE HELD THIS AFTER-
NOON AT 4 O'CLOCK.

 

     Oscar W. Stone, age 33 years, died at Orange, Tex., as the result of having fallen from an oil derrick at Lake Charles, La., Thursday afternoon. Mr. Stone was well known in Temple, having lived near the city practically all his life.

     He is survived by his wife and two children; also five brothers, Edgar, Charles, Herbert, Earl and Culbert, and four sisters, Mrs. L. L. Saurage, Mrs. R. C. Caraway, and Miss Clyta and Eugenia Stone, all of whom live here.

     The body arrived in Temple this morning at 3:45. Funeral services will be held at the former home, 1301 North Seventh street, this afternoon at 4 o'clock. The Rev. Fort of Eddy will conduct the ceremony. Interment will be at Hillcrest. The pallbearers had not been announced this morning.

Oscar Stone Died of Injuries
Sustained in Fall From
Derrick.

 

     The funeral of Oscar Stone, aged about 35 years, who was reared in the Blevins section of Falls county, was held at Temple Saturday afternoon.

     Mr. Stone died at Lake Charles, La., from effects of injuries sustained in a fall from a 135-foot derrick, being in the employ of an oil company at the time.

     Deceased is survived by a family. He was a nephew of Ben Taylor of Marlin, and members of Mr. Taylor's family attended the funeral.
