Dies; Rites
Today
Jess C. Saxon, 64, Rt. 1, Troy, died in a Temple hospital at 12:35 a.m. Saturday after a short illness.
Funeral services will be at 3:30 p.m. Sunday at the Belfalls Baptist Church with the Rev. Marvin Harris of Academy officiating, assisted by the Rev. Winston Kinsey of Belfalls.
Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery.
Mr. Saxon was born Sept. 16, 1899 in Marlin. He was married to Letha Stewart of Eddy in 1936. He had been a farmer near Belfalls for the past 21 years.
He was a member of the Belfalls Baptist Church, and had been a deacon of the church for many years.
He is survived by his wife; a son, Jimmy Stewart Saxon of Belfalls; two sisters, Mrs. Etta Mae Stewart of Marlin and Mrs. J. O. Jolly of Longview; three brothers, Bryan Saxon, Jay Saxon and Elmer Saxon, all of Marlin; and nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be W. B. Jackson, T. L. Wilkinson, Ben Pomykal, Bill Hudgens, Grady Barganier, George Collier, Wiley Martin and Carl Martin.
The body will be at the church one hour before the time of services.
Hewett Funeral is in charge of arrangements.

Belfalls For
Jess C. Saxon
Funeral services for Jess C. Saxon of Belfalls, former resident of the McClanahan community who died at 1:10 a.m. Saturday, May 2, in a Temple Hospital following a very short illness, were held at 3 p.m. Sunday in the Belfalls Baptist Church, with burial in Hillcrest Cemetery at Temple. He was 64 years old.
He is survived by his widow; one son, Stewart Saxon, 16 years old; two sisters, Mrs. Etta Mae Stewart of Marlin and Mrs. Cora Jolly of Longview; and three brothers, Jay, Bryan and Elmer Saxon, all of Marlin.
Mr. Saxon was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Josh Saxon,
pioneer residents of the McClanahan community. The Jess Saxon family moved from
McClanahan to Belfalls about twenty years ago. Mrs. Saxon is a teacher in Temple
public schools.
