TO HEART ATTACK

Charley David Stone, age
67, died about 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 27, 1958, while he was being taken to a
Waco hospital after being stricken suddenly with a heart attack at his Blevins
home.
He had been in ill health for some months
but until the time he was stricken Tuesday he had been active about the and the
attack was unexpected. After becoming ill Mrs. Stone, J. E. Bowers and
Bernard Allen placed the sick man in an automobile and started to a hospital.
At Eddy he appeared to be in a much worse condition and was transferred to an
ambulance. He is said to have been dead upon arrival at a Waco hospital.
Mr. Stone was born on December 12, 1891, at
Eddy, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Ab Stone. His wife was formerly Miss Lella
Bowers of Blevins. They had resided in that community and engaged in
farming, ranching and livestock raising.
He was prominently known throughout Falls
County and Central Texas. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and the
Methodist church. He was president of the Eddy Cooperative Cotton Gin
organization. He had served as a member of the Blevins School Board for a
number of years. He had served as a Falls County committeeman for the
Farmers' Administration.
Wednesday the remains were at the Wilkirson
and Hatch Funeral in Waco and one hour before the funeral services at 3 p.m.
Thursday the body would lie in state at the Eddy Methodist Church.
He is survived by his widow of Blevins; two
sons, Clois Stone of Gatesville, and Charles Stone of Fredericksburg; three
daughters, Mrs. R. P. Marshall of Kingsville, Mrs. E. W. Hayman of Dayton, and
Mrs. Glenn Criswell of Albuquerque, New Mexico; three sisters, Mrs. Bessie
Saurage, Mrs. Garvin Shotwell, and Mrs. Richard Carraway, all of Dallas; four
brothers, Herbert Stone and Edgar Stone of Houston, Earl Stone and Culbert Stone
of Port Arthur; also nine grandchildren.

RITES PENDING
EDDY--C.D.Stone, 66-year-old Blevins farmer-rancher, died Tuesday afternoon
following a heart attack.
He was born in Blevins and had lived in or
near there all of his life and married the former Miss Lella Bowers.
Stone was president of the Eddy Co-op gin,
a Mason and a member of the Eddy Methodist church.
He is survived by his widow; two sons,
Clois Stone of Gatesville and Charles Stone of Fredericksburg; three daughters,
Mrs. R.P. Marshall of Kingsville, Mrs. Eddy Hoyman of Dayton and Mrs. Glen
Chriswell of New Mexico, several grandchildren.
Funderal (sic) services are pending.

KINGSVILLE (Sp) -- C. B. Stone, 68, died of a heart attack at Eddy Tuesday
afternoon.
A prominent Central Texas farmer and
rancher, he had lived in Eddy all of his life. He was a member of the
Methodist Church and the Masonic Lodge.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. C. B.
Stone; two sons, Clois of Gatesville and Charles of Fredericksburg; three
daughters, Mrs. R. E. Marshall of Kingsville, Mrs. E. W. Hayman of Dayton, and
Mrs. Glenn Criswell of Albuquerque, N.M. and nine grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements were incomplete
Tuesday night.

BACK FROM FUNERAL
Mr. and Mrs. Glenn R.
Criswell, 505 Morningside Dr., SE, have returned from the funeral of her father,
C. D. Stone, Eddy, Tex., who was stricken May 27 with a heart attack at the age
of 67. A central Texas farmer and rancher, Mr. Stone was a Mason, a member
of the Eddy Board of Education, and belonged to the Methodist Church. His
survivors include his widow, two sons and three daughters.
