ABNER W. (PAT) STEPHENSON
Abner William (Pat) Stephenson, 62, of Belton, died Thursday
afternoon of an apparent heart attack near Moody.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Heartfield Funeral Chapel
in Belton with the Rev. Lloyd Hagemeier officiating. Burial was in Bellwood
Cemetery.
Mr. Stephenson was born Apr. 7, 1922 in Eddy, the son of Caska and
Ethel Eddins Stephenson Sr. He was a graduate of Bruceville-Eddy High School and
married the former Dorothy Parham at the Eddy Methodist Church on June 6, 1942.
Mr. Stephenson was a retired employee of Southwestern Bell
Telephone Company where he had worked for 32 years. He was a 20-year member of
the Optimist Club. He served in the Air Force during World War II and during the
Korean conflict. He had lived in Belton for the past two years.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy; a daughter, Patra Stephenson
of Belton; a son, Craig R. Stephenson of Temple; one sister, Ida Madge
Stephenson of Temple; and one brother, Caska W. Stephenson of Kerrville.
The family has designated the Seventh Street United Methodist
Church of Temple for memorials.
