OF LONG ILLNESS
Funeral For Temple Man To Be Held
at 4:30 p.m. at
Memorial Church
S. K. Smith, 58,
well-known Temple business man, died at his home, 1306 South 27th street, Sunday
evening at 6:45 o'clock after an illness of several months.
Mr. Smith was born in Lee county, Aug. 4,
1874, and was married to Miss Cora Aurilla Parham, Sept. 21, 1898. They
moved to Rogers in 1903 and Mr. Smith was engaged in business there until 1926
when he moved to Temple. Here he was engaged in the tailoring business
until his health failed a few months ago.
He joined the Baptist church as a young man
and was a member of Memorial Baptist church. He was a member of the Temple
Knights of Pythias lodge.
Mr. Smith is survived by his wife and three
children -- Alfred E. Smith, Vernie M. Smith and Miss Cretys Smith, all of
Temple; one sister, Mrs. Sam Purgerson of Mooreville; one grandchild, Carolyn
Smith.
Funeral services will be held at Memorial
Baptist church Monday afternoon at 4:30 o'clock. Rev. B. B. Blaylock will
officiate, assisted by Rev. C. R. Shirar. Interment will be at Hillcrest
cemetery.
Active pall-bearers will be: Dave
Shannon, D. C. Claitor, John Bigham, Vernon West, E. C. Johnson, John C. Rhode.
