Nettie Estelle Smith, 95 years and 6 months, of Mart passed away on Saturday, May 29, 1999, at her home.  Services were at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 31, at Littlepage Funeral home.  Ministers Frank Downs and Travis Smith officiated.  Music was furnished by Mary Ann Vanek and daughters, Windy and Kaley Russell.  Interment followed at the Kosse Cemetery.

Nettie was born November 29, 1903 in Big Hill, Texas to William and Sarah Alice Stone.  She was a housewife and was a member of the Church of Christ.  She married Elmer Carl Smith on December, 1925 in Groesbeck, who preceded her in death on November 30, 1977.

She is survived by four daughters, Carlene Smith, Mary Potts, and Billie Vanek, all of Mart, and Allene Sandhoff and husband, Don of Trophy Club, Texas; sister Ola Faye Walts of Waco; eight grandchildren, B. C. Vanek of Mart, Kenneth Vanek and wife, Mary Ann of Mart, Frank Vanek and wife, Sue of Grand Prairie, Nancy Kurtz and husband, Billy of Marlin.  Sharon Foit of Hewitt, Sheila Keel and husband, Jimmy of Dallas, Jennifer Purdy and husband, Scott of Trophy Club, Texas and Jeff Sandhoff and wife Jennifer of Ft. Worth, 17 great-grandchildren, Jake, B. C. II, Heath, Adam, Charlie, Jessica and Alec Vanek, Robyn and Randi Kurtz, Windy and Kaley Russell, Aaron Reid, Kerri Hayes and husband, Randall, Cassy and Brandon Keel and Mitchell and Emily Purdy; great-great-grandchild, Randy Hayes, and many nieces and nephews who helped during her illness.

Pallbearers wee B.C. Vanek, Kenneth Vanek, Frank Vanek, Bill Kurtz, Jeff Sandhoff, Jimmy Keel, Scott Purdy and Wayne Walts.

Memorials may be made to Hillcrest Community Hospice, P. O. Box 5100, Waco, Texs 76708, or to a favorite charity of choice.
