BURNETTA PRECIOUS SMITH
January 11, 1925 - April 16, 2006
Graveside services were held at 9 a. m., Friday,
April 21, 2006 for longtime Tracy, CA resident Burnetta Precious Smith, 81, who
died Sunday, April 16, 2006 at Tracy Convalescent Hospital. Interment was in the
Tracy Public Cemetery.
Mrs. Smith was born in Marlin, and lived in Tracy for
58 years. She was a homemaker who was baptized at the age of 12. The Rev. Leroy
J. Jackson married her to Thornton Smith in 1947.
Her nieces, Alma Hines of Marlin, and Carolyn
Stevenson of Killeen; nephew, Eddie Sewell of Dallas; cousin, Dorothy Scruggs of
Sacramento, CA; sister-in-law, Lydia Peterson of San Diego, CA; and several
generations of nieces, nephews, and cousins throughout the U.S survive Mrs.
Smith.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years,
Thornton Smith; parents, James William and Alma Camille Taylor; and siblings,
Martha "Rosie" Sewell and Uearna Taylor.
